FREETOWN

Jerry D. Shelton, 81, of Freetown, died at 12:45 a.m. Sunday, April 21, 2019 at the Covered Bridge Health Campus, Seymour. He was a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. Jerry was a member of the Freetown Church of Christ.

He was born on July 23, 1937 to the late Charles Eli Shelton and Mary Elizabeth Fleenor Shelton. Survivors include one brother, Joseph Eli Shelton of Seymour.

Jerry was preceded in death by brothers, Samuel, John, Waldo and James Howard Shelton and sisters, Martha Jane Abner, Myrtle Coghill, Mary Wolter, Helen Marie McFarlin and Mildred Hurley.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 23 at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia with Barry DeWitt officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday, April 22 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will take place at the Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Freetown Church of Christ.
