Some major changes are coming to Brownstown Central High School’s girls basketball program.
The Brownstown Central Community School Corp. board of trustees approved the resignation of head varsity girls basketball coach Karla Rieckers during a school board meeting Tuesday.
Rieckers has been the head of the program since 2008.
In her 12 years at the helm, Rieckers had a coaching record of 193-90.
The Braves had just two losing seasons under Rieckers.
The Braves won sectional, regional and semistate titles during the 2010-11 season before falling to Fort Wayne Bishop Luers in the Class 2A State Finals.
The varsity also won the Mid-Southern Conference in 2011 and 2014.
The Braves finished 16-9 during the 2018-19 season, with three losses in overtime games, and finished runners-up in the sectional.
Under Rieckers the Braves had nine seasons with at least 14 wins, including five seasons with 18-plus victories.
