Jackson County Treasurer Roger Hurt recently announced the 2018 pay 2019 property tax billings are scheduled to be completed with mailing starting Tuesday to the address on current file.
The first installment, spring tax, is due May 10, and the second installment, fall tax, is due Nov. 12.
Payments made in the treasurer’s office at the Jackson County Courthouse, 111 S. Main St., Brownstown, must be in the form of cash or check during business hours from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Taxpayers also may pay at any of The Peoples Bank branches in Brownstown, Seymour and Crothersville or at State Bank of Medora with their tax statement.
Payment by mail delivery with check and payment coupon is considered on time when postmarked by the U.S. post office by the due date.
A dropbox for payments with check only with a deadline of midnight on the due date is located at the back entrance of the courthouse along Sugar Street.
Payments with credit or debit cards using the I-Freedom Process or automated system are accepted online at jacksoncounty.in.gov or by calling 888-809-5849. There is a processing fee.
