Bonnie L. Bowman, 89, peacefully entered heaven with her Lord Jesus Christ on April 1, 2019 in Fort Myers, Florida, where she had resided for the past 15 months.

A long-time resident of Seymour, Indiana, Bonnie was born September 6, 1929 in Irving, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Henry Sloan and Fannie Bartle. Bonnie graduated from Versailles High School in Lafayette, Kentucky in 1948 with honors.

After school she worked in Lexington, KY before moving to Seymour, Indiana, where she met and married her husband, the late Kenneth M. Bowman, on November 11, 1955. Together, they had four children and were married 29 years until Kenny’s death on June 23, 1985. Bonnie also worked at the Seymour Shoe Factory but after having children she was a mother and homemaker for 25 years. Bonnie enjoyed gardening, embroidery and crossword puzzles. She was also an excellent baker and enjoyed making many delicious treats for her family.

She had a sustaining faith in God and was a member of the New Hope Church of the Brethren for many years and enjoyed praying for others. Bonnie was very proud of her Kentucky heritage and loved the rolling bluegrass hills and race horses. The highlight of her life was being a mother to her 4 children, and a grandma to her 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Huffman of Seymour, IN Penny Bowman Kropke (Edward) of Indianapolis, IN Grandchildren: Lindsey Weidman (Chris); Emily Ricky (Kyle); Benjamin Hynden (Marcela); Daniel Hynden (Brooke) and Paige Huffman Great Grandchildren: Maylee and Andrew Weidman; Jimmy and Katie Ricky; and Kaia Grace Hynden Brother: Merrill Bartle Jr. of Greenwood, IN.

Preceded in death by: Parents: Fannie Bartle and Henry Sloan Husband: Kenneth Max Bowman Public visitation will be on Saturday, April 6, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until Noon at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 110 E. Howard St., Crothersville, IN 47229. Pastor Mark Wooten will conduct private funeral services at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville with private graveside services at Crothersville Cemetery on Saturday, April 6, 2019.
