Joseph “Joe” A. Knight, 69, of Columbus, passed away at 7:40 p.m. Saturday, March23, 2019 at Seymour Crossing.

Joe was born August 10, 1949, in Pensacola, Florida, the son of Alex and Jewel Womack Knight. On October 28, 1995 he married Mary Long.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; children, Mike (Cena) Harris, Dale Harris, both of Columbus, LeVearne (Jay) Hagen of Minnesota, Joey (Constance Gregory) Knight of Columbus, Joey’s mother, Hilda Harris; grandchildren, Javon and Jakeevon Knight along with many others; brothers, Jimmy Knight and Skip (Linda) Knight, both of Pensacola, Fl.; sisters, Valerie Knight, Ruth Brown, Brenda Knight, all of Pensacola, Fl.; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Anthony Harris; sister, Merry Knight and brother, Otis Knight.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Rev. John Edwards officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
