Owens joins Girls Inc. board of directors

Karen Owens, Seymour branch manager for Centra Credit Union, recently accepted a seat on the Girls Inc. of Jackson County board of directors.

Owens, who has been the Seymour branch manager at Centra for 24 years, will serve on the gala and Turkey Trot committees for Girls Inc.

“I have a passion for Girls Inc. because of the work they do in partnership with the schools, the way they mentor so many of our young girls and because of the safe, fun and growth-provoking facility and staff that they offer to the young people of our community,” Owens said. “Girls Inc. equips our young girls to navigate the barriers that they often encounter in life and help them grow into healthy, educated and independent adults.”
