Phillips resigns at SHS

Tyler Phillips will not return as the head coach of the Seymour varsity boys basketball team for the 2019-20 school year.

On Tuesday evening, Phillips’ letter of resignation was approved by the Seymour Community School Corp. board of trustees.  

Under Phillips, the Owls finished 3-20 during the 2018-19 season. Seymour went 9-15 in Phillips’ first year and 12-12 last winter.

Brownstown Central weightlifting winners announced

Brownstown Central High School recently named its winter weightlifting winners.

The winners were determined by how much they improved on their power club, which combined squat, clean and bench press.

Junior class: Eli Brown +105 pounds

Sophomore class: Treyton Ream +75 pounds

Freshman class:  Brayden Millick and Joe Wayt +90 pounds
