MEDORA
Elizabeth Leona Cornett, 67, of Medora, passed away on March 7, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.
Liz entered this world on April 9, 1951, at Shelton Holler of Jackson County, Indiana to the late Orville and Ada R. (Collins) Spence. She was of the Christian faith, and Liz was baptized with her son Gregory at the Medora Christian Church.
Liz was a loving mother and Ma-maw to her family. She always looked forward to the early spring, so she could go out mushroom hunting and enjoy the time in the woods. She would spend the summers picking raspberries and would make raspberry dumplings, cobblers, and jam for everyone to enjoy.
She worked at the Medora Plastic Factory for over 20 years and up until the factory closed. After the closing of the Medora Plastic, she went to work for Tecumseh/Husqvarna for almost 20 years until she retired.
Liz will be greatly missed by her children; Gregory (Melissa ) Spence, Stacy (Brad) Holstine, and Billy Cornett; her nine grandchildren; Caleb Spence, Joshua Spence, Jonathon Wheeler, Gavin Fleenor, Dawson Cornett, Sebastian Cornett, Hunter Cornett, Clay Cornett, and Makenzie Wallace; her brother William O. (Roberta) Spence II and sister, Crystal Singer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Travis Lambert, a sister: Mary Gale Gibson; and a brother Thomas Collins.
Funeral services will be held at Hague Funeral Home of Medora on Monday, March 11, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Stan Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Dixon Chapel Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at Hague Funeral Home on Sunday, March 10, 2019, from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. and on Monday after 10 until time of service.
