Sharon K. Rohr, age 70, of Seymour, passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Rohr was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sauers, and was a first and second grade teacher at St. John’s Lutheran School, Sauers, from 1970 until she retired in 2014. During her teaching career at Sauers, Sharon was principal for more than ten years and coached volleyball for all grade levels. She was awarded Seymour Chamber Commerce Teacher of the Year, and WJAA Teacher of the Year. Sharon had a passion for spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Born on October 19, 1948, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Harold and Myrtle Jean (Wehrkamp) Stuckwisch, both of whom preceded her in death. On April 14, 1974, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sauers, she married Frank L. Rohr and he preceded her in death on November 21, 1993.

Survivors include one son, Matthew (Sarah) Rohr of Seymour; one daughter, Rachel (Andrew) Klosterman of Seymour; four brothers: Tom (Vivian) Stuckwisch of Sellersburg, Max Stuckwisch of Brownstown, Dennis (Beth) Stuckwisch of Columbus, and Jeffrey (Lori) Stuckwisch of Evansville; two sisters-in-law: Judy Rohr of Seymour, and Thelma McElroy of Brownstown; five grandchildren: Frank M. Rohr, Samuel Rohr, Jenna Klosterman, Mallory Klosterman, and Benjamin Klosterman; and several nieces and nephews.

Sharon was also preceded in death by two sisters-in-law: Jane F. Stuckwisch, and Nancy (Rohr) Daniels; and two brothers-in-law: Robert McElroy, and Ronald Rohr.

Funeral services for Sharon K. Rohr will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 18, 2019, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sauers, with Pastor Craig Muhlbach officiating. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 17, 2019, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sauers.

Interment will be at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sauers Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sauers, St. John’s Lutheran School, Sauers, Lutheran Central School, and Don & Dana Myers Cancer Center.
