Hornets fall to SRC foe

Medora will enter Sectional 62 play without a victory.

Despite a career-high 25 points by senior Kailen Flynn, the Hornets (0-18) fell to Southern Roads Conference foe Cannelton 52-40 Saturday.

The Hornets trailed 24-17 at halftime before getting outscored 19-9 in the third quarter. While the Hornets added 14 points in the final eight minutes, they couldn’t make a comeback.

Flynn shot 9-for-15 on the evening, including 5-for-10 from 3-point territory.

Grace Cobb recorded five points while pulling down 14 rebounds and Kelsey Turner had 17 points, 12 boards and five assists.

The Hornets will play the winner of Tuesday night’s game between Crothersville and Trinity Lutheran on Friday, at Edinburgh High School, in the sectional semifinals.
