Children’s book club meeting at Brownstown library

The Great Beginnings Book Club for children in kindergarten through second grade will meet from 3:35 to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 14, March 14, April 11 and May 9 at the Brownstown Public Library, 120 E. Spring St.

Participants will read and discuss a book selected by library staff. Upon completion of the book discussion, participants will engage in different book-related activities. The overall goal of the book club is to encourage the participants to discuss and enjoy different kinds of literature.

After-school snacks will be provided. Some activities may occur outdoors, weather permitting.

Registration, limited to 25 participants, is required. You may register in person or by phone at 812-358-2853.

For Brownstown Elementary School students, Bus 24 will transport children from the school to the library. Parents should send a note to their child’s teacher the day of the meeting explaining the bus change.

Parents also should make arrangements to pick up their children promptly at 4:30 p.m.

If school is canceled due to weather, the book club also will be canceled, and that meeting will not be rescheduled.
