Bowl for Kids’ Sake celebrating 25th year

0

The 25th annual Jackson County Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraiser to benefit the local Big Brothers Big Sisters program will be Feb. 24 at Columbus Bowling Center, 3010 State St., Columbus.

This is the largest fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Indiana and is essential for maintaining programming in Jackson County.

This year’s event will highlight the organization’s new branding, “Defenders of Potential.”

With the move to Columbus, the event has seen a decrease in participation, which has impacted the potential growth of mentoring programs in Jackson County. Funds raised help support the Community-Based, High School Bigs and Lunch Buddies mentoring programs.

Big Brothers Big Sisters serves more than 100 youth in Jackson County each year.

Sponsorships are available at several levels, individuals can get teams together with friends, family or coworkers and volunteers are needed to help the day of the event.

Bowling times are 10:30 a.m., noon, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Teams can register online at bbbssi.org/bfksteam-jackson. Bowlers must raise a minimum of $45 per person. Each bowler will receive one hour of free bowling, free shoe rental, free food and drinks, an event T-shirt and the chance to win prizes.

For information about the event, including how to become a sponsor, register a team or donate, contact the agency office by phone at 812-522-9699, by email at [email protected] or visit bbbssi.org/bfks.
