Accomplishments this past week: The Braves beat Austin, Clarksville and Silver Creek.

How were you able to perform to your fullest potential this past week?

“I was able to perform to my fullest by the help of my coaching staff. Without them, I would not be prepared both mentally or physically.”

What did you do well?

“I played good defense and rebounded for my team.”

Do you do anything special to prepare?

“I usually listen to music before the game or on the bus, or if it’s a long bus ride, I will sleep.”

Favorite drink: Sweet tea

Favorite food: Biscuits and gravy

Favorite music artist/genre: Tupac, hip-hop

Favorite book: “Kissing Booth”

Favorite class: Human body systems

Role model: Kobe Bryant

Best advice?

“If there is something you want to do in life, make sure you make time to accomplish it. You never know when your next day will be your last. Do not take one day for granted.”

If you could travel anywhere and why?

“Australia, because I would love to snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef, surf and explore the outback.”

Athletics goals? (current or future)

“Win a sectional title and Toby Yoho.”

Alejandro Sachinas Lopez, Seymour wrestling, senior

Accomplishments this past week: Sachinas won the 195-pound class at the Jeffersonvile Classic. He went 4-0 in his matches Saturday.

How were you able to perform to your fullest potential this past week?

“The warmup and the mental preparation before the tournament all formed part of how I performed on the mat. I just had to stay in the right frame of mind, take each match one at a time and just worry about that match and not the tournament as a whole.”

What did you do well?

“Just staying calm under pressure and trusting my training and the work I had put in.”

Do you do anything special to prepare?

“Not really. I simply try to think of the match in front of me.”

Favorite drink: Coconut water

Favorite food: “Just food. If it has a good taste, then I’ll gladly eat it.”

Favorite book: Bible

Role model: Muhammad Ali

Best advice?

“Not really advice, but I tend to repeat a psalm in my head: ‘Blessed be the lord my rock who trains my hands for war my fingers for battle,’ Psalm 144:1.”

If you could travel anywhere and why?

“I would travel back to Mexico and see my grandparents after 13 years of being separated and the rest of my family.”

Athletics goals? (current or future)

“Be a state placer.”
