BOYS TENNIS

Sectional postponed

The semifinals matches of the Seymour Sectional were postponed on Thursday due to rainy weather.

Seymour will face Scottsburg and Brownstown Central plays Austin tonight starting at 4:45 p.m.

The championship match will now be played on Saturday. That time has not yet been determined.

BOYS SOCCER

Trinity falls to Lighthouse Academy

Trinity Lutheran trailed by two goals at halftime, and couldn’t surmount the deficit, in a 5-2 loss against Lighthouse Christian Academy on Thursday.

Ricky Castro scored off a penalty kick, and Sawyer Doggett added a goal on a corner kick, but the Cougars trailed 4-2 at halftime.

LCA held the Cougars scoreless the rest of the way.

In goal, Brayden Stockelman recorded 12 saves for Trinity.

VOLLEYBALL

Tigers top Hornets

CROTHERVILLE — Crothersville defeated Jackson County foe Medora 25-15, 18-25, 25-15, 25-12 on Thursday.

Maddie Riley led the Tigers with 20 of the team’s 25 kills and Kailen Flynn had 12 kills for Medora.

Gracey Cobb had four aces for the Hornets (6-15) and Riley had four for the Tigers (10-9)

Braves fall to Pioneers

CLARKSVILLE — Class 4A No. 2 Providence defeated Class 3A No. 9 Brownstown Central 25-16, 27-25, 28-26 on Thursday.

Keeli Darlage led the Braves with 14 kills, Addie Wilkerson had seven and Kendra McCory totaled six.

Serving, Brooklyn Snodgrass and Reagan Nuss each had two aces.

Brownstown moved to 22-4 on the season with the loss.
