SEYMOUR
Evelyn Marie Schroer Klinge went home to be with Jesus on July 15, 2018 at the Lutheran Community Home.
She was born on July 28, 1924 in Bartholomew County. She was the daughter of William and Sophia (Moorman) Schroer. On October 12, 1941, she married Robert Klinge at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death in 1980.
Evelyn was baptized at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Columbus, was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour and was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Dudleytown for the past 77 years.
She was a member of Emanuel’s Martha Society, sang in the choir for many years and was a member of LWML.
For 14 years, Evelyn was a foster grandmother at Jackson Elementary School. She loved to travel and made it to all states but 5. She also was an avid reader, reading 2-3 books a week, and she enjoyed playing euchre.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Carol Bobb, Marcia (Tom) Snyder and Dennis (Pam) Klinge, all of Seymour, her grandchildren, Randy Bobb, Roger (Sonia) Bobb, Jennifer Snyder, Chris (Jennifer) Snyder, Heather (Hung) Nguyen, Allison (Josh) Kline, Elizabeth (Scott) Griffith and Kyle Klinge, 9 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her baby brother, Robert Schroer and her sister, Grace Lutes.
Friends may visit with Evelyn’s family from 4-8 pm Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, 419 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour, IN and one hour prior to the service at the church.
The funeral service will be at 10 AM Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Dudleytown with interment at Emanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery. Pastor Lohn Johnson will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church, Lutheran Community Home or Charity of your choice.
