A Duke Energy spokesperson said a planned outage will not impact Seymour on Tuesday.

Chip Orben, government and community relations manager, said about 422 customers in Austin will be affected from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. for scheduled maintenance of electrical equipment, but Seymour residents are not included.

Many Facebook users in Seymour have reported phone calls from Duke about the outage and Orben said he is unsure what has caused that discrepancy.

“It’s only affecting the 422 in Austin and they have been notified by phone,” he said.

Orben said the company is working with its call center to try to fix the problem.

The company is encouraging customers to call Duke Energy Customer Care Operations at 1-800-521-2232 if they have questions, according to a press release from the company.

The press release also indicated that the work would be completed Wednesday at the same time if it got canceled Tuesday.
