NORTH VERRNON
Stephen Glen Sharp, 60, of North Vernon passed away at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at the home of his brother.
Born March 31, 1958, in Seymour, Mr. Sharp was the son of Nancy Bartlett Sharp and the late Byford Sharp.
Mr. Sharp was a a 1976 graduate of South Decatur High School in Westport. He worked the last five years as a machine operator for Seymour Tubing and had previously worked at Arvin Meritor in Columbus for ten years, True Temper in North Vernon, Darlage Excavating in Seymour and Mariah Foods of Columbus. He attended North Vernon Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Sharp enjoyed I.U. Basketball, Dallas Cowboys football, camping, fishing, watching westerns on TV and spending time with his family.
Surviving with his mother, Nancy Sharp of North Vernon are brothers, David (Bernadine) Sharp of North Vernon, Dennis (DeAnn) Sharp of Butlerville, Ronnie Sharp & Donnie Sharp both of North Vernon and a sister, Debbie Gootee of North Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Mike Sharp; grandparents, Russell and Edna Bartlett and John and Thelma Sharp and niece, Beth Huntington.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2018, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with the Rev. Caleb Reynolds, Rev. Doug Sharp officiating. Family and Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
