Former Braves golfer earns award
Lance Hackman, a Brownstown Central grad, represented the Indiana University East men’s golf program on the 2018 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Team list, the NAIA announced during the recent national tournament.
In order to be nominated, student-athletes must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must have achieved a junior academic status and must have completed at least three semesters at their current school.
Hackman was among 180 golfers nationwide to earn the honor. He is an informatics major.
Hackman was second out of 14 players on IU East’s spring scoring average list. He helped the Red Wolves win five tournament championships this past school year.
