Sharon M. Alcorn Weidenburner O’Daffer, 76, of Seymour, IN passed into the loving arms of Jesus at 11:00am, Monday, June 11, 2018, at her home with her family by her side. She was born on September 22, 1941, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Lloyd Alcorn and Viola Reffeit.
She first married Donald Weidenburner in 1961. Born unto them are Raymond Weidenburner of Seymour, IN, Troy (Jackie) Weidenburner of Oakwood, IL, Sherrie (Tony) Barkes of North Vernon, IN, Matthew (Mandy Smith) Weidenburner of Aylett, VA.
She later married Wilbert ‘Gene’ O’Daffer in 1976 in Danville, IL. She was blessed with a son Eric O’Daffer of Seymour, IN and two step-children, Michael (Lisa) Tipsword-O’Daffer of Decatur, IL & Stanley O’Daffer of Minneapolis, MN. She was also blessed with two step-grandchildren, Gretchen Tipsword-O’Daffer (Matt Lichtenberg) of Decatur, IL and Griffin Tipsword-O’Daffer (Alex Hamm) of Decatur, IL; one great grandchild, Nova Tipsword of Decatur, IL.
Sharon has 13 grandchildren in all; Gretchen, Griffin, Kenny, Timothy, Cathy, Malinda, Kevin, Cory, Sean, Stephanie, Samantha, Stacie, & Christopher; and 10 great grandchildren, Corey, Issac, Lylah, Brooklyn, Rey, Landon, Saxton, Scarlet, Silas, & Nova.
She had a brother, Floyd Alcorn, and four sisters, Shirley Andrews, Janie Johnson, Kathy Rogers of Ridge Farm, IL, and Melody (Buddy) Dixon of Danville, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Alcorn & Viola Reffiet; two sisters, Shirley Andrews & Janie Johnson; and two grandchildren, Cory Weidenburner & Kenny Tipsword-O’Daffer.
Sharon was a wonderful Mother & Grandmother and her family was her life.
She was a member of The Point Church in Seymour, IN. She loved her church family and friends. She also loved music, yard work, and flowers, but most of all her family and friends.
Sharon’s love for life and effervescent personality has touched all that has met her.
A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Sunset’s Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held 12:00pm to 2:00pm on Saturday prior to her service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ridge Farm, IL. Memorial donations may be given in her name to Schneck Home Services Hospice of Seymour, IN. Please join her family in sharing memories through her Tribute Wall.
