Seymour Middle School completes spring clothing drive

Seymour Middle School recently concluded its annual spring clothing drive collecting 6,041 articles of clothing, which were donated to the Jackson County Clothing Center in Seymour.

The goal was to help those in need of clothing items throughout Jackson County.

By collecting more than 4,000 items, Seymour Middle School students and staff earned three dress-down days.

The classes collecting the most items were Kathy Beavers’ seventh-grade pride class and Craig Montgomery’s eighth-grade pride class. Both earned a pizza party.

Owl Bucks went to students who brought in more than 100 items. They were Rylin Huddleston, Catherine Catterton, Morgan Esteb, Ebelin Barhone, Rumanda Day, Madelyn Busby, Samantha Foster, Hiley Obermeyer, Zach Croquart, Donovyn Thomas, Doug Juarez Villatero, Mady Downey and Hayley Harpe.

Combining the fall and spring collections, a total of 9,794 clothing items were collected by Seymour Middle School students and staff.
