Eight Jackson County 4-H members recently were awarded Indiana 4-H Foundation scholarships.
The awards were based on community service, leadership and project work through the 4-H program.
The recipients, the school from which they recently graduated and the scholarship they received are:
Matthew Stuckwisch, Brownstown Central High School, Jackson County 4-H Auction Scholarship
Victor Hackman, Trinity Lutheran High School, Jackson County 4-H C.B. Hess Memorial Scholarship
Heather Buckles, Brownstown Central High School, Jackson County 4-H Club Committee (4-H Council) Scholarship
McKindree Johnson, Trinity Lutheran High School, Jackson County 4-H Junior Leaders Scholarship
Noah Hoskins, Crothersville High School, Jackson County 4-H C.B. Hess Memorial Scholarship
Sophie Kreis, Brownstown Central High School, Jackson County 4-H Junior Leaders Scholarship
Macey Prewitt, Trinity Lutheran High School, Jackson County 4-H C.B. Hess Memorial Scholarship
Andrew Kellermeier, Brownstown Central High School, Jackson County 4-H C.B. Hess Memorial Scholarship
All of these recipients have been members of Jackson County 4-H for 10 years.
Scholarships are for graduating high school youth involved in 4-H who are planning to further their education. 4-H scholarships totaling $5,000 are being awarded this year in Jackson County. All scholarship recipients are selected by a committee at Purdue University and awarded through the Indiana 4-H Foundation with local 4-H organizations sponsoring the scholarships.
