Nature Play Day set at refuge

Nature Play Day will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge, 12985 E. U.S. 50, Seymour.

Nature Play Days are a project of the Indiana Children and Nature Network and are locally sponsored by the Muscatatuck Wildlife Society, the nonprofit refuge friends group.

The goal of Nature Play Day at Muscatatuck is to connect children with nature by leading youngsters in outdoor play activities.

Activities for children during the day will include investigations of aquatic wildlife in a pond, exploring one square yard, storytelling, looking under rocks, finding out about bugs and learning about worm composting. A simple picnic lunch will be served at noon.

All activities will take place at the Nature Discovery Area.
