Pine Ridge Extension Homemakers met May 22 at the Jackson County Visitor Center in Seymour
Executive Director Arann Banks said the structure was built in 1890 as a freight warehouse and was renovated and opened as the visitor center in 2007. Local historical events are pictured, and upcoming festivals and activities are publicized. Items created by local craftsmen are sold.
President Mary Ann Seaney presided at the club meeting. Roll call was answered by seven members who showed or described items they had received from their mothers, including aprons, recipes, plates and a treadle sewing machine.
Sandi Hall will deliver Meals on Wheels for the club in June.
Hostess Doris Frey gave devotions on the club motto, “Give of the best that you have and the best will come back to you.” She served a bag lunch. The hostess prize went to Carol Wait.
The next meeting will be at 1:30 p.m. June 26 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Seymour. Secret pal birthday gifts will be exchanged, and club dues of $3 will be collected.
