Seymour theater set for final show of season

Tribune Staff Reports

Actors Community Theater of Seymour will present “You Have the Right to Remain Dead” as its final show of the 2017-2018 season.

The show is set for June 8, 9, 15 and 16 at the theater at Shops at Seymour, 357 Tanger Blvd., Suite 208. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show begins at 7:30 p.m.

This murder mystery comedy is loaded with cheesy comedy that will tease your humor palette with one-liners and audience interaction, according to a press release from ACTS.

Here’s what you can expect as you use your powers of deduction: The lights come up on a small-town theater troupe’s latest show when shots ring out. One of their own is dead at the hands of a fellow cast member, and they all have sketchy pasts. Can you figure out who did it? They will be asking you what you saw, and then you turn the table and ask them your burning questions.

The cast includes Greg Simon as Harnell Chesterton, Horace Tucker as Fat Daddy/Arnold Trumbull, Robin Nolan as Sweet Mama/Doris Trumbull, Elyse McGill as Hyacinth/Leigh Dorsett, Stephen Jones as Earl/Steve Randall, Connie Kiviniemi-Baylor as Savannah/Lois Jacobsen, Ethan Ortman as Clete/Ajax Conroy, Rachel Franke as Officer Bainbridge, Amanda Bott as Blanche LaTour and Morgan Henry as Tommy Marsh.

Kat Baute is serving as the show’s director. Tim Gordon and Ashley Browning are serving as sound and lightning technicians.

Tickets are $12 and may be purchased at the door or in advance at seymouracts.ticketleap.com. Seats may be reserved pending payment by calling 812-498-2127.

“You Have the Right to Remain Dead” was written by Pat Cook and is being presented by special arrangement with Samuel French Inc.
