Julie Ann Woods, 56, of Sycamore Street, died at 7:52 a.m. May 17, 2018, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Julie was born March 4, 1962, in Scottsburg, the daughter of Vernon and Barbara Ann Stearns Plessinger.
She married her forever love, Jimmie Woods October 23, 1999, and was employed at Reams Asset Management.
Julie loved being a “mom,” grandma and a best friend to all who knew her.
She loved fishing, boating, skiing, the beach, gardening and flowers.
Even while battling cancer, Julie remained brave, thoughtful, and caring — thinking of others first and showing her friends and family how to live through trials with dignity and grace, all with a “big beautiful smile.”
Friends may celebrate with the family from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2018, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home in Columbus.
Memorials may be made to the Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or Columbus Regional Hospital Cancer Center.
Survivors include her mother, Barbara Ann Beavers, and her stepfather, Bill, of Columbus; husband, Jimmie; sons, Jared Donnell and Joel Donnell, both of Columbus; stepson, Tony (Polly) Woods of Westport, stepdaughter, Cindy (Brad) Byford of Scipio; brothers, Richard (Jane) Plessinger of Rockwall, Texas, Michael (Vikki) Plessinger of Columbus and David (Brenda) Plessinger of Nashville; and grandchildren, Jacob Woods, Zachary Woods, Baylee Byford, Austin Byford and Riley Byford.
She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
