Vernon Louise Killey, 87, of Brownstown, died at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2018 at the Hoosier Christian Village. She had been ill for 1 year. She was a Homemaker and a member of the Brownstown Baptist Church. Vernon loved to read, do puzzles, cook and bake pies.

She was born on March 15, 1931 in Seymour to the late Samuel & Hattie Gaiter Nowling. On May 18, 1946 in Salem, IN, she married Oren Martin Killey and he preceded her in death. Survivors include 4 children, Connie Elaine (Michael) Lovins of Brownstown, Alvin Dale (Lucinda) Killey of Brownstown, Reta Lynn (Larry) Schneider of Brownstown, and Alan Duane (Dana) Killey of Seymour; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Killey of Seymour.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Arthur Clinton Killey; brothers, Clarence, Hubert, Nelson, Marion, Jesse, & Dale Nowling; and sisters, Edith Holman, Fairy Childers, Roberta Newton & Jean Wingler.

Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia with Scott Irwin officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of service. Burial will take place at the Vallonia Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Salvation Army.
