Thumbs-up, thumbs-down for May 11

Voice of the Owls

Thumbs-up to Seymour broadcaster Bud Shippee, who received the Indiana Fever Silver Medal Award on April 28 during the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fames’ 17th annual Women’s Awards Banquet. Receiving the award means Shippee also earned a spot in the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. The 1970 Seymour High School graduate and 1975 graduate of Indiana State University has been the Owls’ play-by-play voice since 1976. He has broadcast more than 2,400 high school football, basketball and baseball games.
