Pine Ridge Extension Homemakers

Sandi Hall gave a lesson on April gardening tips when Pine Ridge Extension Homemakers met April 24 at Mary Miller’s home.

She told of starting seeds inside, hardening transplants and the fertilizers to use for blooming or foliage plants.

Nine members answered roll call by telling what they cooked best.

Tickets for Achievement Night were distributed, and plans were made for joint travel. Marj Patman displayed the name tags she had made. She also gave the citizenship lesson on watching for slow-moving farm vehicles now on local roads.

Members voted to collect empty pill bottles to be sent to an organization that will deliver them to third-world countries for safer disposal of medicines.

Miller gave devotions based on Psalm 23. She conducted a flower-naming game with prizes going to Hall, Andrene Wunder, Patman and Carol Wait.

A dessert course was served. The hostess prize went to Wait.

The next meeting will be at 1:30 p.m. May 22 at the Jackson County Visitor Center with Doris Frey as hostess.
