Baseball pairings announced
The IHSAA released the 2018 baseball sectional schedules on Sunday evening.
The tournament will run from May 23-28.
Seymour will play New Albany to open Class 4A Sectional 15 play at Jeffersonville before Bedford North Lawrence takes on Floyd Central in the second game.
The winners from the first two games will play in the semifinals while Jeffersonville and Jennings Countyl face each other on the opposite side of the bracket.
At Class 3A Sectional 30, hosted by Silver Creek, Scottsburg plays North Harrison, Brownstown Central takes on Corydon Central, the hosts play Providence and Charlestown faces Salem in first round games.
Should Brownstown win, they will face the victor of Scottsburg-North Harrison in the semis before the championship round.
Four teams will make up Sectional 61 at West Washington, with the hosts playing Trinity Lutheran and Orleans facing Crothersville.
Times and dates of the sectional games are to be determined.
Regional sites for Jackson County schools are Evansville Reitz (4A), Evansville Bosse (3A) and Loogootee (A). Regional games will be played on June 2.
Semistates, to be played June 9, will be played at Plainfield and Jasper for teams playing in southern regionals.
The state finals will be held on June 15-16 at Victory Field in Indianapolis.
