Learn about caring for fruit trees

A program on fruit tree care and maintenance will be presented at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Wilson Park shelter house in Bedford.

The program is the eighth program in the Bedford Park Outdoor Series.

Richard Beckort with Purdue Extension Jackson County will speak on this timely topic that is a part of the spring season.

This free program will include an educational evening all about caring for and maintaining fruit trees.

Beckort will answer questions that will help people with their fruit production goals and provide answers and recommendations if ideas and suggestions are presented to him from participants.

The shelter house is heated, but watch the Bedford Park Department website or Facebook page if the weather is bad to check for cancellation. RSVP for the program at 812-275-5692 to ensure there are enough handouts and chairs.

On April 17, the series will feature a star party program, given by Angie Timan, Ray Robison and Mike Pritchett. An evening filled with mythical stories about the stars and moon, observations about various objects to be found in the night sky and learning how to use a telescope all are on the agenda.
