The Schneck Foundation will offer a sleep disorder program at 6 p.m. April 3 in the Schneck Auditorium, 411 W. Tipton St., Seymour.
Sleep Disorders: Causes and Treatments with guest speaker Dr. Jeffrey Hagedorn of neurology and sleep sciences will discuss the importance of sleep and the causes and treatments of sleep disorders. He is board certified in sleep medicine.
For some people, getting a good night’s sleep is as easy as closing your eyes. For others, it is only a dream. Sleep disorders can take a significant toll on your health and well-being. Sleep apnea, insomnia or other sleeping disorders can ruin your night, according to a news release from the hospital.
Sleep is important for learning and forming memories. Getting a good night’s sleep can give you more energy and increase productivity throughout the day. Perhaps most importantly, healthy sleep can greatly reduce the risk of serious health problems, such as obesity, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and depression.
Schneck Auditorium is located just inside the visitor’s entrance at Schneck Medical Center.
Refreshments will be served at 5:30 p.m.
