Bryan Alexander Toppe “Alex”, 28, passed on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at University of Louisville Hospital.
Alex was born February 12, 1990 in Columbus, IN. He is the son to William Bryan Toppe (Tammy) and Leah Deneen Wilkerson. Siblings include a sister, Alyssa Ackerman, and brother, Nathan Wilkerson. He is the grandson of William and Marian Toppe and Glenda and Zacky Buckner.
Alex was preceded in death by his grandfather Zacky. He leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that miss him dearly.
Alex was affable and very likeable with a kind heart and an infectious smile so genuine you couldn’t help but smile back at him. Alex had many friends, was open and accepting, and appreciated people just as they are. He bravely accepted life’s trials and carved out his own path in life.
Alex was very intelligent and an avid student of history. He enjoyed the History Channel and reading from many sources. He enjoyed a good discussion (or debate) and was very curious about many topics – especially philopathy. He wrote short stories, was an amateur chef, relished bourbon and a good IPA (although a free beer of any kind was certainly appreciated!) Reddit, 4-Chan, etc. were places his imagination would wander.
Memorial donations in Alex’s name can be made to the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation. In memory of Alex, head to your favorite watering hole, smile your biggest smile, and strike up a conversation on your topic of choice. Then raise your glass and give a hearty toast to the unforgettable Alex and appreciate those joining you.
