Schneck president, CEO named to list

Warren Forgey, president and CEO of Schneck Medical Center, has been named one of the 50 Rural Hospital CEOs to Know by Becker’s Hospital Review.

Forgey and Emmett Schuster of Gibson General Hospital in Princeton were the only CEOs named from Indiana. This is Forgey’s third consecutive year to be named to the list.

Forgey, a Freetown native and Brownstown Central High School graduate, has been instrumental in advancing patient-focused care at Schneck, according to a news release from the Seymour hospital.

He also has achieved significant improvements in operations, accomplishing cost efficiency while increasing patient satisfaction. Under his leadership, Schneck has earned a debt rating of A from Standard & Poor’s and a rating of A+ from Fitch Ratings.

Individuals on the list include CEOs and administrators of hospitals located outside of major metropolitan areas or health care hubs.

The Becker’s Hospital Review editorial team selected leaders through a review process where a number of factors were considered, including awards received; local, regional and national leadership positions held; and the organization’s performance.
