Michael Braxton Emily, 43, of Seymour, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at his residence following a two year illness. Born February 26, 1974, in Seymour, Indiana, he was the son of Robert and Linda M. Emily.

He married Sallie Over on May 11, 1996 and she survives. He was a graduate of Seymour High School, Class of 1993. He had worked in maintenance at Aisin in Seymour.

Michael was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and a member of Southern Indiana Flying Eagles. He was very involved in the building and flying of remote control airplanes and drones. Michael was a licensed pilot.

Surviving are his wife Sallie, of Seymour; his children, Shane (Ronia) Over, of Morristown, TN, Shannan (Glen) Matern, of North Vernon, IN, Shawn Over, of Morristown, TN, and Shanell (Joe) Clayton, of North Vernon; seventeen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his parents, Robert and Linda Emily, of Seymour; one sister, Elisabeth (George) Tatom, of Seymour; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February 5, 2018, at the Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, with Pastor Ralph Blomenberg officiating. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery, in Jennings County.

Visitation will be from 2-6 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral chapel.

Memorials may be considered to the ALS Foundation or Premiere Hospice.
