Library teen’s club meetings planned

The Teen Readers Advisory Club plans to meet from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the Brownstown Public Library, 120 E. Spring St.

The club advises the library on teen interests and trends. Members recommend titles for the young adult collection and suggest ideas for teen programs. Occasionally, members also help youth services facilitate programs for other age groups.

This program is for teens entering fifth through 12th grades. Participants must have read one book from the young adult collection before each meeting.

During the meeting, each participant will give a brief book talk about their selection. The goal of a book talk is to tell enough about the title to encourage fellow teens to read the title without giving away the ending.

Following the book talks, teens will have time to socialize, make recommendations for future programs and participate in various group activities. Snacks will be provided during all meetings.

Registration is required.

Programming will be canceled if Brownstown schools are closed due to weather.

Other meetings are set for 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. March 8, April 5, May 3 and June 7.
