Forrest Lucas, founder of Lucas Oil and Protect the Harvest, was recognized with a plaque Jan. 6 for his donation of two sections of bleachers to the Missouri State Fair Swine Barn Preservation and Improvement Initiative.
Lucas, the founder of Lucas Oil and Protect the Harvest, is a Jackson County native.
The plaque is cut from a piece of salvaged bleacher wood from the fair’s 1922 swine barn. The new bleachers are part 11 of the swine barn improvement project. Lucas also will donate resources to build the new bleachers.
Wendy Faulconer, the fair’s executive director, said Lucas’ generosity not only fueled others to give at a high level, it sparked a movement whereby people paused to reflect on their personal legacy, blessings and how to share those with the next generation of Missouri agriculture.
Faulconer and Doug Loges with the swine barn improvement committee made the presentation.
