A boil water advisory is in effect for the 620 customers of Village Green Mobile Home Park, 825 S. O’Brien St., Seymour.
The advisory has been in effect since shortly after the holidays, said Pat Fosbrink with Natural Public Supply.
Fosbrink, the office manager of the utility that supplies water to the mobile home park, said the advisory comes after wells supplying the water ran dry.
She said it is believed the wells ran dry because residents of the park left their faucets turned on during the recent cold snap to keep their waterlines from freezing.
“This is the first time we’ve ever had this happen,” Fosbrink said of the dry wells.
The Indiana Department of Environmental Management requires boil water advisories be put in place in such cases, she said.
The advisory will remain in effect until further notice, Fosbrink said.
