The Jackson County Public Library is offering free storytime programs beginning Monday and continuing through Feb. 27 in the Kidz Korner program room of the library, 303 W. Second St., Seymour.

The library’s storytimes are 30-minute sessions that incorporate age-appropriate early literacy activities that include stories, rhymes and songs. There will be no classes Feb. 19. Registration is required.

The schedule is:

  • 6:30 p.m. Mondays: Good Night Storytime. Children may come in their pajamas and bring their stuffed friend for a sensory-friendly evening. Parents can help bring literacy into their child’s bedtime routine with this calm version of storytime. It is open to families with children.
  • 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays: Good Morning Storytime for babies ages 0 to 24 months.
  • 10 a.m. Tuesdays: Good Morning Storytime for toddlers ages 25 to 36 months.
  • 10:30 and 11 a.m. Tuesdays: Good Morning Storytime for preschoolers ages 3 to 5.

An adult must accompany children ages 36 months and under to the storytimes. Parents and caregivers of children ages 3 to 5 years old may attend the storytime session with their child or wait in the Kidz Korner until the session ends.
