Officers with North Vernon Police Department participated in Operation Pull Over Blitz 92.

The “Safe Family Travel” project began Nov. 10 and ended Dec. 3.

During the blitz, officers stopped 184 vehicle, issued 61 traffic citations and 134 warnings, and made nine criminal arrests, which included charges of drug possession and possession of paraphernalia. They also conducted four field sobriety tests.

The goals of the project were seat belt enforcement and DUI enforcement. Operation Pull Over is a state-funded project allowing extra officers to work patrols focusing their effort on the project goal.
