Theater group to perform comedy

Do Hannah and Franklyn really have the perfect marriage? What about their best friends, Martha and Ben?

Join Actors Community Theater of Seymour for the stage comedy “Kosher Lutherans” to find out how these two young Jewish couples deal with the random consequences — or what Ben calls curveballs — that make up life.

How far will Hannah and Franklyn go to adopt the baby of a young girl from Iowa who only knows that the Jews “run Hollywood and killed Jesus?” Is conversion to Lutheranism, as Martha has suggested, on the table?

The show will be staged Dec. 8, 9, 15 and 16 at the theater, 357 Tanger Blvd., Suite 208, at Shops at Seymour. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show begins at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $12 and may be purchased at the door or in advance at seymouracts.ticketleap.com/kl or by calling or texting 812-498-2127.

Cast members include Amanda Bott as Hannah, Cory Watson as Franklyn, Ashley Browning as Martha, Timothy C. Gordon as Ben and Hannah McGill as Alison.

Elyse McGill is serving as director. Betty Baute is director’s assistant and stage manager.

“Kosher Lutherans” is written by William Missouri Downs and is being presented through special arrangements with Samuel French Inc. Assistance is provided by the Indiana Arts Commission, Columbus Area Arts Council, National Endowment for the Arts, Community Foundation of Jackson County and Aaron’s of Seymour.
