Braves hold awards banquet
BROWNSTOWN
The Brownstown Central girls’ golf team celebrated their 2017 season at the high school Tuesday.
As a team, the Braves finished 16-2 in 9-hole competitions and 19-16 in tournaments. Brownstown placed third at the Mid-Southern Conference before finishing runners-up at the Bedford Sectional.
At the Washington Regional, the Braves placed 11th overall.
Senior Emma Zabor was named the Braves’ Most Valuable Player. Zabor was also named Academic All-State and All-MSC.
Zabor is just one of 15 seniors in the state to be named Academic All-State.
Regan Campbell, Shelby Stuckwisch and KaCee Collins were all named All-MSC honorable mention.
Stuckwisch earned the mental attitude award and was Academic All-State honorable mention, most improved went to Campbell and Collins earned her letter jacket.
