Voss wins invitational

BATESVILLE

Seymour’s Jacob Voss proved the individual winner, of 40 runners, at the Batesville Invitational on Tuesday, timing 16 minutes, 45 seconds.

Batesville won the six-team “big school” race with 45 points, East Central was second at 55, and Seymour finished third scoring 63.

Cooper Morrow placed eighth for Seymour in 18:07, Spanky Kleber timed 18:27 for 15th, Trent Hohenstreiter ran a 18:38 for 17th, Luke Plummer clocked 19:00 for 22nd and Ethan Dippold was 28th in 19:55.

Goecker 2nd at invite

NEW WASHINGTON

Trinity Lutheran’s AJ Goecker placed runner-up at New Washington on Tuesday with a time of 17:19.

GIRLS CROSS-COUNTRY

Chase, Sunbury take 1-2 at invite

BATESVILLE

Seymour’s Ashton Chase and Makenna Sunbury took first and second places at the Batesville Invitational on Tuesday, with times of 19:42 and 20:01.

As a team, the Owls were third of six in the “big school” race with 57 points.

East Central were champions with 40 points, and Batesville were runner-up with 57. Batesville beat Seymour with a faster time at the No. 6 runner spot.

The Owls’ Abby Voss was 11th, of 40, in 21:28, followed by Grace Rennekamp (17th, 21:59), Oriana Morales (26th, 23:36) and Brett Kleber (36th, 25:52).

In the junior varsity race, the Owls’ Claire Lubker had the fastest time at 22:25.

Cougars represent at invite

In the girls race at New Washington, Jodi Goecker was eighth in 24:28 and Abby Hildreth finished 21st in 28:52.

Seymour awards for Bedford North Lawrence game

The Seymour football team awarded players for the win against Bedford North Lawrence on Sept. 15.

Earning awards were: Kody Engleking, offensive line; Tyler Bullard, receiver; Alan Perry, offensive back; Brendan McCartney, defensive lineman; Justice Perry, linebacker; and Alex Holt, defensive back.
