Cougars beat Twisters

OLDENBURG

Trinity Lutheran swept Oldenburg Academy 25-21, 25-19, 25-18 on Monday.

Hannah Sabotin led the Cougars with 12 kills and Chloe Criswell had three aces.

Sami Newmister totaled 22 assists and Abby Schult amassed six digs for Trinity.

The Cougars (14-11) play at Loogootee on Friday.

Rebels top Cougars

Southwestern (Hanover) defeated Trinity Lutheran 4-2 on Monday on a pair of late goals.

Down 1-0, Maddie Bell scored a goal on an assist from Izabella Whitmore to knot the game.

Sidney Hoene scored on a shot from 25 yards before the Rebels’ Taylor Cole re-tied the game at 2-2.

The Rebels scored a pair of second half goals to come away with the win.

Trinity (5-7) was outshot 13-9 in the game, and Cougars keeper Vidalis Montanez collected nine saves in goal.

The Cougars will host Jennings County today.

Cougars fall to Braves

BORDEN

Borden topped Trinity Lutheran 4-1 on Monday.

The lone Cougar’s win came at No. 2 doubles, as Avery Schwipps and Noah Voelker picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win.

The Cougars (1-13) will play Brownstown Central (11-5) on Thursday at the Seymour Sectional.
