BOYS SOCCER

Owls beat Twisters

Seymour’s Daniel Hartman netted two goals in a 2-0 shutout win against visiting Oldenburg Academy on Saturday.

The Owls outshot the Twisters 17-6.

Ammon Christensen was credited with an assist to Hartman.

In goal, Elliott Clark recorded five saves for the Owls.

SHS (8-1-1) will travel to Floyd Central tomorrow for a Hoosier Hills Conference game.

Owls tie Dragons

SELLERSBURG

Seymour and Silver Creek drew 1-1 Saturday in a non-conference matchup.

The Owls’ lone score was by Addison Chandler, who was assisted by Bailey Lewis.

Aidan Hiester had 16 saves for the Owls.

Seymour (7-2-1) will host Floyd Central on Tuesday in a Hoosier Hills Conference contest.

Owls, Braves, Cougar run in Eagle Classic

Seymour scored 402 points to finish last of 15 teams in the Elite race of the Eagle Classic on Saturday.

Bloomington South won the event, totaling for 82 points, Bloomington North was second (117) and Carmel finished third (129).

Seymour’s Jacob Voss placed 42nd, of 141 runners, in 16 minutes, 28 seconds.

The Owls’ Cooper Morrow clocked 17:16 for 9th, Trent Hohenstreiter ran a 17:39 for 11th, Barry huff was 121st in 17:58 and Caleb Deppen was 139th (20:35).

Evansville Memorial’s Matt Schadler and Edgewood’s Austin Haskett tied for the best time of the day, both hitting the finish line in 15:08.8.

Seymour sophomore Luke Plummer won the freshman/sophomore race at the Eagle Classic in 16:47.9.

In the Varsity “A” race, Brownstown Central placed 10th of 15 teams with 237 points. Austin won with 48 points.

Jeremy Pitts led BC with a 25th-place finish in 17:59. Ethan Caroll (29th, 18:03), Trey Hackman (44th, 18:50), Mason Kellogg (55th, 19:20) and Charles Ault (84th, 21:27) rounded-out the Braves’ scoring five.

Trinity Lutheran’s AJ Goecker placed ninth of the 111 runners, hitting the finish line in 17 minutes flat.

Wyatt Wyman, of Brown County, was the individual winner in 16:14.

Seymour’s 307 points placed them 12th of 15 teams in the Elite race of the Eagle Classic on Saturday.

Ashton Chase’s time of 19:05 (21st) was the fastest for the Owls of the event’s 128 runners.

Makenna Sunbury was 27th (19:20) for SHS, followed by Grace Rennekamp (87th, 20:41), Brett Kleber (115th, 22:48) and Courtney Mansfield (120 (23:37).

Carmel won the event with 72 points, Bloomington North finish second with 81 and Floyd Central was third at 129.

Carmel’s Phoebe Bates won the race in 17:39.

In the Varsity “A” race, Brownstown Central finished fourth of 16 teams by scoring 148 points. Forest Park won (49 points), led by individual winner Claire Mehling (19:16).

Kaelyn Johnson ran a 21:28 for the low BC time, placing 14th of 117.

Johnson was followed by Destiny Satterthwaite (27th, 22:29), Claire Poulton (29th, 22:31), Shauna Drake (37th, 22:45) and Emma Winks (41st, 22:54).

Trinity Lutheran’s Jodi Goecker was 40th in 22:47 and Abby Hildreth placed 106th in 27:48.
