Braves fall short

Brownstown Central fell behind 2-0, but battled back to force a fifth set at Silver Creek Thursday in a Mid-Southern Conference match.

Despite the comeback, the Dragons would take the key conference match 25-15, 25-12, 23-25, 18-25, 15-10.

Claire Pace had 14 kills, Keeli Darlage slammed 11 and Grace Jaynes added eight.

Riley Nuss had three aces and Brooklyn Snodgrass had 36 digs.

The Braves (10-7, 4-1 MSC) will host Corydon Central Tuesday.

Owls win thriller

Seymour edged Scottsburg 25-20, 23-25, 25-21, 15-25, 16-14 in a marathon match Thursday.

Jessica Blevins led the Owls’ attack with 51 hits (18 kills) and Abby Schmidt had 29 (six kills)

Kate Snook had seven blocks and Emily Corcoran totaled 23 digs for the Owls.

Blevins and Abby Schmidt each placed a pair of aces.

The Owls (3-13) play Monday at Hauser.
