Rotational grazing field day planned at local farm

A rotational grazing field day, sponsored by the Jackson County Soil and Water Conservation District, will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 24 the farm of Jeff and Cathy Blair, 7025 S. County Road 550E, Crothersville.

Robert Zupancic, a grazing specialist with the Natural Resources Conservation Service, and Shasta Woodard, a service district conservationist, plan to talk about rotational grazing, livestock watering systems, heavy use area protection, excluding livestock from surface waters, forage plantings and farm bill program information.

The Jackson County Cattlemen’s Association will cater the meal.

Reservations are required and should be made by calling 812-358-2367, ext. 3, no later than Aug. 4. Alternative communication methods, such as audio enhancements or large print formats, or special accommodations for transportation during the field walk will be available.
