“Love Letters” tells the story of Andrew Makepeace Ladd III and Melissa Gardner, both of whom were born to wealth and position. They are childhood friends whose lifelong correspondence begins with birthday party thank-you notes and summer camp postcards. The two continue to exchange letters through the years through good times and bad. They share their correspondence through a readers’ theater format.
The show opened off-Broadway in 1989 and moved to Broadway later that year.
In the ACTS production, Jeremy Kinnett and Kat Baute will play Andy and Melissa, respectively. The show is rated M for mature audiences for strong language and sexual references.
It is being produced through special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service Inc. and through a grant from the Indiana Arts Commission.
