
SOLOMON, Ariz.
Lela Wayne “Janice” Dorsey Gonzales, 74, of Solomon, Arizona, passed away at 3:40 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2017, at her brother’s rural Seymour home.
Born Feb. 21, 1943, in Corbin, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Raymond Albert Dorsey and Ada Mae Hayden Dorsey, both of whom preceded her in death. In January of 1976, she married Guillermo “Bill” Gonzales, who survives in Solomon.
Janice retired from Thriftee Grocery Store in Safford, Arizona.
Other survivors include two sons, Jeffrey (LaDean) Burkhardt of Heber, Arizona, and Ronnie Gonzales of Solomon, Arizona; family she helped raise, Karen (Eddie) Peru, Berta “B.J.” Gonzales, Adamy Gonzales and Essence Montoya; grandchildren, Sean Burkhardt, Ginny (Aaron) Clement and Curtis Ray Burkhardt II; siblings, Larry (Margle) Dorsey, Barbara “Rusty” Reynolds and Peggy (Lloyd “Lump”) Colwell, all of Crothersville; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous family members from Arizona, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by a son, Curtis Ray Burkhardt Dec. 17, 2015; and siblings, Joann Bonilla, Franklin “Sonny” Dorsey, June Patrick and infant Daryle Dorsey.
Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville.
