SEYMOUR
E. Janet Cecil, 96, of Seymour, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour.
Born Feb. 28, 1921, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Leo G. Nichter and Elva Cobbs Nichter Blair, both of whom preceded her in death. On Nov. 1, 1942, in Indianapolis, she married Cloyd R. Cecil, who preceded her in death Nov. 16, 1999.
Janet was a homemaker and charter member of Cornerstone Community Church in Seymour.
Survivors included her son, James R. (Ramona K.) Cecil; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Kelly Dawn; several great;grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Jean Nichter; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Merrill E. (Bud) Nichter, and Donald M. Nichter; and a sister-in-law, Libby Nichter.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Voss and Sons Funeral Service with the Rev. Johnnie Spivey officiating. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon until time of service Saturday at Voss Chapel.
