SEYMOUR
Donald LeRoy Reed, 78, of Seymour, passed away at Hickory Creek Healthcare Facility in Columbus on Tuesday, March 14, 2017.
Born Aug. 11, 1938, in Waymansville, he was the son of Ernest M. and Donna J. Young Reed, both of whom preceded him in death. He graduated from Shields High School in 1956.
Don was a Vietnam veteran of the U. S. Navy, having served during his working career and retiring Sept. 1, 1986, after 30 years of service.
He was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 655.
Survivors include his brothers, Larry (Mary) Reed and Dana Reed; sisters, Janet (Estel) Voss and Linda Reed; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepmother, Jean Reed; a sister, Betty Baranowski; and a brother, Ernest Reed.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel. An Order of Eagles memorial service will be at 10:45 a.m. and will proceed to Lutheran Cemetery for a graveside service to include military graveside rites led by American Legion Post 89, VFW Post 1925 and associates, all of Seymour.
